According to various Bastar history books, Prataparuddev was born in the Kakatiya dynasty of Warangal, whose information about Annamdev is available as his cousin. In the 13th century, Prataparudradev was made the successor of the Kakatiya dynasty. The Mughal rulers attacked for the third time in Warangal and Prataparuddev was taken captive and taken to Delhi.In the meantime, Anuj Annagdev had marched towards Bastar and established the Kakatiya dynasty by defeating the Nagvansh here. After making Mandhota the capital first by King Annamdev, Jagdalpur was made the capital.
